PI, Assistant Professor
Research Interests: Please see my research tab!
Anything Else to Share: I am first generation, queer, and white and use they/she pronouns. My identities and experiences shape both how I perceive the world around me and the scientific interests I hold. When I'm not in the lab, you can find me hiking with my two cattle dogs Copper and Ruadh, traveling with my partner, Sean, reading a good book, or (attempting) to watercolor.

Aarush Malik
he/him
Graduation Year: 2027
Major: Computer Science and Religious Studies
Minor(s): Mathematics
Research Interests: I’m broadly interested in computing education, particularly how people learn to code and develop confidence in technical spaces. A key part of this is understanding how students’ environments and past experiences shape their learning. Through my work with RESSL, I explore how queer students in STEM navigate belonging, mentorship, and institutional culture at Jesuit universities.
Anything Else to Share: On campus, I serve as an Assistant Resident Director and have previously worked as a teaching assistant in the Math/CS department. I’m also involved in initiatives that support diversity in tech, including Girls Who Code. Outside of academics, I’m a student pilot and enjoy flying, as well as finding new boba spots and traveling.
